Well, here it is Labor Day, and the last post I put on here was late July. I wonder if I'll ever get my brain in gear. And I hope the captions are lined up with the pictures - it's kind of silly since the last time I was on here. After doing the other blogs, I'm trying something on this one to see if it all lines up right. [Hmph!!! Just looked, and now it's doing like it used to, so WHO KNOWS! On this post, the captions are BELOW each photo. Grrr.] So let's play catch-up again from over the last month:
Our dog checking out some cattle while on an evening walk.
A little mid-August storminess.
Got the yard spruced up a few weeks ago before the local fair. Of course, it needs it again already. ha ha
Nearby river, early morning.
Cloudy, late-summer sky.
Field work.
Took this a week ago - the Locust Tree is now a good 6 feet tall, or maybe a little more!
These last 3 pictures are from today, Labor Day (9-2-2013). Younger Son's watermelon vine has a pretty-good-sized watermelon now! It's around 6 inches long at this point.
Battling wasps at my clothesline. Put foil around three "ends" (you can see a wasp trying to get in ... I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture later!) .... Younger Son sprayed stuff - for the second time - at the wad of wasps at the other end, when they go, I'll cover that end, too.
A country road with lovely sunflowers - my idea of fall.
Ugh!! Wasps are so annoying! We have a nest in up in our porch roof that has been there for years. We think we have it under control and then next year it seems even worse. This year I have spent HOURS out there with cans of stuff, and it seems to have really died down. If they would mind their own business it would be one thing, but these are those nasty red ones and they started dive bombing and stinging my daycare families!
ReplyDeleteI HATE WASPS! I sure hope you can get rid of the buggars on your porch.
