A Gift

I cannot find enough words of thanks for the kindness that was shown to us this last week! After seeing about my laundry plight, a dear friend up home and her husband, with help from many others who pitched in, arranged for a new washer and dryer to be delivered to our house and set up. Oh, what an overwhelming gift! We cannot say thanks enough! Many people working together can accomplish big things and big helps. And before this, as well, another friend had offered a washer they had that was still good but they didn't need, we just couldn't make the distance up home to get it. I hate to admit how much of a nightmare the laundry situation had become. I have issues with the blaring sun. Just that morning, before we received this in the evening that day, I had done two big loads of laundry early in the morning at the laundr-O-mat in the nearby town, and to save money, had brought it home to put on the line. Even with a hat on, and it being morning yet, and being SEPTEMBER, I nearly collapsed from the heat and thought I would never get back in the house. I was crying and feeling sick and thinking my head would explode and sitting in the lawn chair and getting back up again and plugging away at fastening things to the line. My energy and stamina aren't near to the level of normalcy that most people would have. Now, there will be no more of that. Maybe at 51, I need to realize that if I can do something easier, THAT MAY BE FOR MY GOOD, and I don't have to make a big deal of doing things the old-fashioned way. Nothing wrong with it, may still do it occasionally, but don't HAVE to. Haven't had my own dryer for 9 years, so it's about time to use that blessing when needed. God provided a way, through many loving and caring hearts, to help me not have as much physical demand that I have so much trouble with lately. So to all who had any hand in this wonderful gift, THANK YOU, and I will never forget it!

  2. Hi Rhonda, I am happy for you having a working w&d. They look really nice too.
I am 55 and I don't like the fact that I can't work as hard or long physically as I used to, but that is how it is. And heat, my body's thermostat takes forever to cool back down when I get too hot.
    God bless your sweet friends.
