I was so happy to get to visit with my gal friend over lunch yesterday. We just had some good "girl time" visiting about all kinds of things. But it did include this little problem I'm having with this other particular person. But even if that situation doesn't change, I feel like a weight has been lifted. God will help things go the best, meanwhile I'll be patient and do my own best with His help.
I am thankful for God, my own little family of my husband and sons, friends and family from up home and scattered here and there (thankful for e-mail and Facebook!!!), and the ones I've gotten to know here where I am now who are becoming better friends. And actually, friends do become more like FAMILY, and that is so precious.
I just shared this on Facebook:
"Trouble shared is halved, joy shared is doubled." Don't know where that came from, but I read or heard it once upon a time, and it is so true. And ... I'm not only thankful for family and friends I have, I hope I AM a friend to all of them as well. :)
I love girl time. I think women don't get it enough these days. My mom used to get together with the neighbor ladies almost daily during the week for coffee.
ReplyDeleteI sure wish that I had my girlfriend closer so we could have girl time, but unfortunately my sister and best friend live over 800 miles away and I sure miss that girl time myself. I have to say though that my hubby is my best friend of all time!! Your post was very touching.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine & Lisa! That girl time is just good medicine for us, isn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good talk!! Sometimes just being able to vocalize through words or writing makes things seem better!! And yes. .it is great to have allies!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Melanie! :)
