Praying for More

The other evening, in the midst of this drought and heat, we had a small but mighty rainstorm go through here. So many are praying, praying, praying for rain in this whole drought-stricken area of the Great Plains - Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and surrounding areas. So much is in ruin. Pastures are scorched. Ponds and lakes are down or empty. Rivers are rivers of sand instead of rivers of water. My heart goes out to farmers and ranchers who are struggling mightily at this point. Cattle are being sold because they just can't keep them. I've seen I-don't-know-how-much hay going down the interstate lately going west - trailers full of big round bales.

Showers have been popping up here and there, and I am so thankful to see that. In various places, little doses of life-giving rain are coming down on the dry earth. BUT WE STILL DESPERATELY NEED RAIN.

Heavenly Father, I pray that you would put Your mighty hand on these weather patterns, and break this heat and break this drought. Thank You for any and all rain you would send to us to restore our land, pastures, lakes, rivers, crops and livestock. In Jesus' NAME, Amen. Praying, believing, trusting, waiting.

  1. It is dry everywhere!! We saw very little green grass from our place to Grove this past week. There was a touch of some green pasture east of Alva. .We are certainly praying too!!
