After storms rolled through last night (see previous post), we had a little bit of a calmer day, though it sure was windy again. The rain gauge showed 1.53". Our rain moved through from 11:30 last night until around 12:40 a.m. There was a good bit of small hail in it for awhile.
In my home county up in Kansas (also see previous post), they unfortunately had tornadoes do damage, as far as I've heard yet, one farmhouse got hit, maybe one other. But thankfully, everyone is safe.
What a difference a day makes:
Neighbor's maple tree yesterday -
Neighbor's maple tree today -
(Wind/rain/hail may have gotten rid of a few leaves!)
Yesterday was really "glum," with gray, cloudy skies and misty drizzle much of the day, even if it was on the unusually mild side (resulting in storms and tornadoes!). So today, it was sure different from that, with deep-blue skies and bright-white clouds. (They moved out after awhile, but sure made for a pretty sky.) At least it seemed more in keeping with this time of year. And yes, northwest Kansas got snow today, some places up to three inches of the white stuff.
