Winterizing

For today, our weather forecast is calling for dropping temperatures, into the 20's overnight, and blasting N-NW winds. So Older Son and I did some last-minute winterizing out in the yard. I seem to work better and feel better when I work outside when it's cool.

First, we drained and rolled up the hose, and winterized the faucet.

We pulled up garden stakes and laid them aside.

Well, whaddaya know! After hardly any blooms on my planted Morning Glories, here's this nice, robust purple Morning Glory by the east clothesline pole! Wow! Tonight's "deep freeze" will probably take care of anything like this.

Dried broom corn (that didn't do well in the drought) and yellow flowers being blown around by the breeze.

Things by the west clothesline pole, Morning Glory VINES, yellow flowers, and the trumpet vine/bush in the background. Once it freezes good, and gets nice again, this is all going to come out.

Had a dab of laundry drying on the line real quick before it turns colder later today. The wind was really flapping it around!

The clouds have gotten thicker and thicker as the day has progressed. Slight chance of rain tonight. Up in my home state, they're getting snow!

The "wild" Morning Glories have a few little blue blossoms yet.

Stacked the table and chair together so the blasting north wind later won't tip them over.

Now to take the dry laundry in, do a few more things, then the weather can do what it wants! I will hunker down inside and read to Younger Son and work on quilt stuff. Hubby is doing the food today. :)

  2. There's this thing here - we have the interstate about a mile south of us. The saying is, that if you can hear the interstate traffic, it's gonna get windy! And it does! Strange. LOL
