Recipes

It's finished! I got the recipe binder done, and wow, is it FULL. Main Dishes, Soups-Salads, Side Dishes, Yeast Breads, Quick Breads, Sourdough, Cakes, Pies, Cookies, Desserts, Pickles/Etc., Miscellaneous, and Information. These recipes have came from EVERYWHERE! Newspaper clippings, magazines, promotions, handwritten on envelopes, old recipe cards, even a couple I found on paper towels. So you can imagine all that laying in a pile all the time, and understand how happy I am to have it all in a BINDER. :)

Here are some sample pages - lots more of each thing than just what's shown! (Especially the chocolate cake. LOL) Pot roast and marinade recipes:

Various chicken things:

Bread/rolls recipe from Mother-in-law, etc.:

Yeast bread recipes of all kinds:

I have this "thing" for chocolate cake:

Information on preserves:

"Come On Home" chicken-noodle dinner info. from my hometown:

My first Thanksgiving dinner list (completely on my own and turkey included, just last year!):

Need to feed 100 people?:

So, now I'll have to get busy and actually make some of this stuff! It's been too long.

  2. We bought an old one at a sale that was pretty neat, the lady did the same kind of thing, but it wasn't as neat and nice as yours! You did a great job. Make sure you put your information on it so if anyone ever requires it years later they will know where it came from!

  3. Thank you, Lisa, and that sounds like a neat find! Yes, I need to get my name on this one. :)

Robin, I saved all those "meal reports," I found the amounts of things served just fascinating! You do an awesome job of running those events. :) Yes, that's a good idea to use page protectors. A couple of cookbooks I have that were Mom's, there are pages with lots of splatters on them. One is the chocolate cake page in the Betty Crocker Cookbook, I remember that one from my growing up years. I hope you're ENJOYING your vacation, and some fun in the kitchen perhaps! :)
