Early Sleet and Snow

A few days ago, we had a round of sleet and snow. The sleet started early in the morning, it sounded like a frying pan sizzling outside. Church was cancelled. Older Son had to go to work in the nearby town, though. He carried an old tire/wheel from by the house and dumped it in the back of his pickup for weight and traction. Ha ha Guess it worked, he got back and forth alright during the day. The last picture shows his tracks, my tracks, the dog's tracks .... It's still cold yet, but the sun has finally been shining the last couple of days. The wheat fields ought to be thankful for the "drink" and the sunshine. I guess winter is upon us, we've hardly had "winter" these last couple of years. Well, it's making up for it now. Thankful for heavy coats, boots, thermal underwear, and scarves-hats-gloves! And good warm food. And a good, sturdy house with HEAT.
