Older Son bought a lot of baked goods at one Mennonite house, some for us, some to take to work and share. German Chocolate sheet cake, banana nut bread, and cookies (peppernuts, chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin chocolate chip, and sugar). (Son bought these.)
(Correction: Hubby bought the peppernuts. They're a favorite of his.)
Also at this house, I found some free shelves that I can use in my storage-poor kitchen. Free is good. :)
Two aluminum muffin tins, and two stainless steel round cake pans, $1.00 each. Plus, at this particular place that was one of our first stops, I had a big peach-pecan muffin, $1.00. Total $5.00.
Hand towel (.10) and a little bandana bag that says "OKLAHOMA" on it (.25). Total, $.35.
Two brown glass pie plates (.50) and an old biscuit cutter (.25). Total, $.75.
I grabbed this biscuit cutter off the table so fast it's a wonder it didn't catch fire. I have kicked and kicked myself that I didn't get the biscuit cutter we had at home, it was old like this, with a red knob. This comes pretty close, it looks to be the same size, and has a red METAL handle. It'll do!
"Daily Guideposts 2012," which I have already started reading. Total, $.25.
And my favorite finds of the day, a quilted table runner and a cup and saucer. This was at another Mennonite house, they also had baked goods, but we had bought too much at the previous one. This one had pies and cinnamon rolls, plus lemonade by the glass. Anyway, I also grabbed this quilted runner so fast it would make your head spin. It has a slight, small mustard spot on it, but it's faint, and maybe I can make it even fainter. LOVE the prints in it. Runner, $2.00; cup and saucer, $1.50. Total: $3.50.
Love your finds!! I LOVE garage sales!! You just never ever know what kind of treasures you will find!
