Then as that bunch of weather moved on, here came more. A big ol' shelf cloud moved in from the west-northwest - looked worse than it actually was. Just a bunch of turbulence. But it looked spectacular, too.
An awful dark cloud - looking north from our house.
The clouds over east were more blue-toned, the shelf cloud was almost dirty-looking.
Dark clouds to the east from our back yard.
Then this evening, we really got it, rain-wise. Here's rain pouring off our front step roof.
Storms all over Oklahoma.
A pool forming by our front step.
Older Son had to run over to the nearby town to work just as the storm was hitting. (Just after he had gotten home from work!) The alarms went off, because of the stormy wind, and he's the one who has to go check them and shut them off/reset them. He waited over there for awhile, then finally came home as the rain was kind of letting up, but still bad! Here's Younger Son watching for him to get back.
Yay, he made it back! Backing in like usual, and Younger Son took him out an umbrella. Now wasn't that thoughtful?
But he ran in so fast he didn't even open it! ha ha Just glad we're now all four under the roof for the night, even though it may rain more.
