Sky Variety

Though I hated thunderstorms and tornadoes when I was a kid, I've always had a fascination for the sky and clouds. I'm a bona fide weather nut. I like it when "something's happening" with the weather. If it's still and clear out, I'm bored. But I do like living in a part of the country where I can see wide-open country, horizons, and the big ol' sky. Throw in a camera, and I also become a photo nut. Here are a few changes we've had in the last few days:

We had a good rain system move through for a few days, for which we're thankful. This provided that dreary, gray sky, which looked even more dreary with bare trees. That kind of day is when you hunker inside and do fun stuff. Like drink hot cocoa and eat all the carbohydrates you can find.

Then after the storm system moved out yesterday morning, we had some awesome clouds floating by. First I saw these awesome cirrus clouds, called "mare's tails."

Then there were some "puffy" clouds, which I thought were gorgeous. I love white, white clouds against a blue, blue sky.

Then today, we have ... boring. BUT, it's still nice. Warm sun and cool air, and good to get out and do things in the yard that I've been needing to do. So whatever the sky is "doing," each thing has it's own flavor and own beauty. I love it all!

  1. I am a weather nut too. I will watch the weather channel for fun. My kids find it strange.
