Interlude at Sonic ... I Already Have My Drink

The boys and I were on a gob of errands earlier today, and we stopped at Sonic for an early lunch. As usual, I wrote everything down so I wouldn't forget anything. I pushed the button and turned our order in.

As we sat waiting for our food, I looked at the order I'd written, which happened to be on the page of conglomeration that was my errand list ... places to stop, LARGE grocery list, etc. I had written the food order down at the bottom amongst some other stuff. Then I saw it - for some reason I had written my sandwich over under some other list, and hadn't ordered it. Oh good grief. I had ordered my drink, and the boys' stuff, but not my sandwich. (Typical for a scatterbrained 49-year-old!)

So after we got our ... their ... food, I set about to order ME something to EAT. By this time, I was all harrassed-feeling (but laughing uproariously at the same time), and had changed my mind about what I wanted. So I finally settled on a New York Dog and some fries. ONCE AGAIN, I pushed the button.

"Welcome to Sonic, may I take your order?"

"Yes, I'll have a New York Dog and a regular order of fries."

"Would you like a drink with that and make it a combo?"

"No (laughing ...), I already have my drink ... long story!"

"Oh, OK!" (laughter)

So anyway, I finally got my eats, and we went on about our business. And I actually crossed almost everything off my list!

  1. Anytime we go to sonic, Jeremy makes me order. .so I have to lean across the seats to yell into their microphone and try to remember what 6 people said. .I think of it as a good exercise to keep the Alzheimers away :-)

  2. Oh I am jealous. I wish we had a sonic near us and how funny I always go to the drive thru with a list too. Orders are so complicated now that the kids are older. Happy New Year!!!
