Time Flies

I like living in a place where the four seasons are (usually) distinct. I'm glad that even though we're in another state, were still generally in the same area. I say "usually" because there are times that winter is mild and it hardly snows, or it goes right from winter to summer and seems to skip spring, or it skips fall and goes right from summer to winter with the bottom falling out of the thermometer, etc. But still, we have our seasons - winter, spring, summer, fall. And to me there are good things about each season. But my favorite is fall.


There's something about the quieting down after a busy summer, the cooling off after the summer heat (especially THIS year!!!), and just that atmosphere of hazy days, leaves changing on the trees, fall-colored grasses in the pastures - I love it all. Plus I can get back to hot drinks! Cocoa, coffee, hot tea. Soups. Baking in the kitchen without suffering heat exhaustion.

So, my favorite months are September and October. But wow, there's only a little over a week left of October - WHERE DID SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER GO SO QUICKLY? Soak in one more week of October, then we'll move on into November, and a happy anticipation of Thanksgiving.
