So I changed to this ....
.... and I feel MUCH better. I find these various baskets REALLY CHEAP at the thrift store, so the red one will likely just go back there and find a new home somewhere else. So I guess if there's something that bugs you every time you see it, do something about it. You'll feel better. :)
P.S. It would appear that the color of the first basket and my new favorite bedspread are the same color but they aren't. The basket has a sort of bright intenseness about it. The bedspread has a sort of deep almost "brick"-type red about it. (See comments section.) I like the bedspread. I don't like the basket! LOL Go figure, I know I'm weird! :)
very good advice, we can't always fix big problems but when little things that get under our skin are fixable, then we should. It really can make a big difference

LOL Rhonda - me and "painting" aren't the best of friends! :) Another good point about the first basket is that it's roomy and would hold a lot of something! I think it's the shade of red. Some reds I like, others are too intense and literally make me edgy to look at on a constant basis. I think that's the case here. It's a certain intense shade of red I can't handle. LOL
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!! I like the second basket MUCH better!! I must find a thrift store--I like to do gift baskets for the teachers for Christmas--with homemade goodies in them. The baskets can cost as much as a nice gift can!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh Melanie, you would have a heyday here at this thrift store!!! And they're CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!!! If you're ever in Weatherford, just find the "Etc. Shop." :) They may have one in Kansas, too. Hutchinson, maybe? It's in conjunction with the Mennonite churches, and the proceeds go to help MCC (disaster relief, etc.) and other charities. Down here they also help the local pregnancy center.
ReplyDeleteI like the little basket better. In our house, space-saving is a must. And, I like the color better, too. Maybe cause it doesn't interfere with the bright colors of the napkins. Still think it's a totally cool idea!
