Out here on the Great Plains, a common saying is, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute, it'll change." Today was a prime example of that. It was sunny at first this morning, though we were expecting a big cold front later on. Anyway, we went to the next town this morning, and it's only a few minute's drive. We started out, and at first it looked like this:
Only a couple or three miles, and the clouds suddenly started to thicken up:
By the time we were about there, it was overcast:
And yes, later on after the noon hour, the front hit, with a nice, cold, blasty wind. This is the time of year I call "roller-coaster weather." Today, it started out in the 30's, got up in the 40's before the front hit, now this afternoon it's 32 and I think headed down even more. Supposed to be 18 tonight. Tomorrow, 42. Friday, Saturday and Sunday? It's supposed to be 68, 73 and 68. So in a day and a half or so, it'll go from an overnight low of 18 to a daytime high of 73.
