The Kind of Ice Storm I Like

Yesterday, various sources were claiming a bad ice storm was moving in, with possibly a half-inch of ice resulting. This is how the sky looked mid-morning, looking off to the southwest, where stuff was moving in from:

Yes, it misted and drizzled some yesterday afternoon and evening, but it just stayed wet.

Now, here is our "ice storm" this morning, everything's wet from some moisture, but DEFINITELY NOT FROZEN:

We seem to have a situation in the City, where the TV stations "cry wolf" a lot, about how bad a storm or weather system might be. Maybe they don't want to take chances in case it is bad, then they can say they warned everyone. Or maybe "drama" brings "ratings." Competition, perhaps? On the other hand, it makes people start to not believe what they say. The Facebook weather pages have a lot more sense going on, they look at everything, and make sensible forecasts that prepare you without going overboard, and are honest about how it may or may not pan out.
