After yesterday's "red in the morning, shepherds take warning," it came true. A rain/snow system moved through, and in the night, we got a dab of very wet snow. Out west, in the Texas panhandle, Amarillo got eleven inches of the white stuff.
This is looking southeast from our back yard towards sunup.
It was fun scraping vehicles this morning, it was kind of icy-slushy, but came off OK. This is Older Son's pickup that's just sitting at the moment, so didn't have to scrape it.
Looking east of town from the church yard. I'd had to run Younger Son to school since the bus was late, and took the opportunity for some awesome cloud pictures.
Looking southeast from the church yard towards the buttes. Look at the "ocean wave" clouds in the upper right portion of the picture - very cool!
Later, after some errands in the nearby town (where they had a little more snow than we did), this is back home, showing a patch of wheat by the creek. The snow has melted off by mid-day. I always heard about snow being good for the wheat, as there is nitrogen in it.
