Then, I did some more stuff puttering around the yard. I gathered up the log pieces we had used for garden markers and put them in a "stack." I'll use some of these to frame the horseshoe pits later.
Pulled up all the border fence and stacked it. The white fence will be put in front of the house ... I have plans.
I also have plans for these - they'll be taken back to in front of the house as well. PLANS. There's more of this rock buried in the dirt around the front and side of the house that I want to dig up and re-place as well.
The lettuce is still making its presence known in the depth of a mild Oklahoma winter.
The straw bales are still there - Younger Son likes to watch "obstacle course" contests on TV, so he made his own "obstacle course" to hop around on. He's had various configurations, this is just one.
THIS is the kind of sky I like ... high overcast, either light clouds or heavier clouds. Cuts down on the glaring, blaring sun. Just makes it feel "soft" outside, and I love it.
Annnnd ... we have a storm system headed our way, severe storms likely this evening and into tomorrow. This is looking west.
I also have PLANS for these things, involving paint. I'm going to give the table a coat of white, the chair is going to get put back to its original yellow-with-white-arms/frame, and the clothesline poles are going to go a nice medium or dark green.
I really have fun watching and hearing the birds. It's so hard to get a picture of them though, they're sure flighty, and startle easily. But here's the feeder, where they've been.
But I had to at least TRY to get a picture of them, so this is the best I could do for now. Mostly sparrows and finches - some red finches and gold finches add a bit of color. Pigeons or doves come down and eat, too. Once in awhile a Cardinal. Saw a Robin awhile back.
Knitting on some small projects, just for fun.
And, lunch for the working guys (Hubby and Older Son) before their "days" start. Hamburger, manwich, ranch beans (drained a little), and hot sauce and ceyenne to taste. Serve on buns or bread.
The rest of the day, I'll work with Younger Son for schooling, maybe a little more knitting, want to try to make an "Apple Brown Betty," and wait for the storms to roll in. We sure need the moisture, but hopefully the "stormy" part won't be too bad.
Hi, we are getting some nice rain in Stillwater, hope you are too.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about the pack of dogs, not a good thing at all.
Hey, Rhonda! We got a fair bit of rain, sure thankful for it. Haven't seen the dogs since. I'm glad!
