Change of Plans

A year ago or so, we decided to put in a garden. Not knowing that we'd have the worst drought and highest heat during the summer than we'd had in eons. Awesome timing! Well, after consideration, I have some thoughts:

I don't have a "green thumb."

Harsh sunlight and I don't get along, due to medication, heat exhaustion problems and having fair skin.

Being tied to the constant watering proved to be not up my alley.

I hate weeds.

So, at this point, we have different plans for the upcoming spring and summer. All that garden area you see in the above photo will be smoothed out and laid bare of fence and weeds and stuff. We are going to put in ...

... a horseshoe pit.

And a decent place to sit and enjoy the evenings in the shade (of the shed). So while I appreciate anyone who can garden, and love it in theory, it's just not up my alley to keep up with at this point. So we will go down the route of having a place to just enjoy and relax. That will be worth a lot.

BTW - The comments don't seem to want to come up on the computer - I just get a blank screen. So I'm not ignoring comments! I enjoy reading and responding to them.
