A sample of what the clouds looked like over our house during the storms.
This tornado image (I took a picture of the tv) shows a churning monster about 15-20 miles to our southeast when things were first starting to fire up. This particular storm is what moved on up to the interstate and caused the damage you see in the following pictures.
Some tornado damage seen in our area, as we drove around yesterday:
The square, dark shape you see in the center of the picture is an oil rig SUBSTRUCTURE, tipped on its side.
Tree damage by interstate.
More tree damage by interstate.
General view across a pasture and canyon.
Board debris by side of road.
Further south, some light damage of fence rails down, plus some of the cedar branches were down. A pivot irrigation system is visible in the field beyond, just above the top fence rail. From the middle of the picture to the left edge of the picture, you can see a huge section of the system is twisted UPSIDE DOWN.
Damage also included semi-trucks crumpled and houses destroyed. Hubby says he heard that in one place, a tornado CUT A DITCH in the ground. I pray people can recover, and I pray for continued safety for everyone.
glad you are all ok!! Very little compares to the aftermath of a tornado!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melanie - it was scary!
