Cowgirl Project

Ah, this cowgirl has a project! I have a bridle to rejuvinate.

No, I do NOT have a horse.

I'm just funny that way. We had city-wide garage sales here a couple of weeks ago. One place had an old saddle and a couple boxes of miscellaneous tack, all for $200.00. Well, the saddle wasn't in the best shape. One box had a bunch of old reins and cinches and leather strips, none of it in very good shape. The other box was a conglomeration of leather and assorted stuff. But in rooting through that second box, I found the bridle shown in the picture above. It was twisted and dusty and the bit was rusted, but the leather was good and strong. I saw ... POTENTIAL. This bridle needed rescued and rehabilitated! I untangled it out of the box and asked if they'd sell it by itself. They said yes. I said how much. They said ... $3. THREE DOLLARS! "Oh, yes, it's mine!" I thought to myself.

So this cowgirl has a bridle of her very own again. I wish I had kept the one I had used with my horse, but I went through a phase thinking I'd never have anything to do with horses again. Oh well. But this will be a way to have something to work on that HAS TO DO WITH HORSES. So when this bridle gets cleaned and oiled and a new bit, I'll post the before and after pictures. Meanwhile, I consider it a "cowgirl's treasure."
