First Spring Storm

The weather people had been forecasting severe storms in our state for yesterday for several days in advance. Sure enough, yesterday afternoon, ahead of a cold front, a line of storms fired up. And I might say it was rather sudden. Once they started, they took off like mad. First, there was a cluster of thunderstorms in the northeast part of the state, and the Tulsa area happened to have a tornado.

As I was in the house around that time, sitting at the computer like I often do, I thought I heard a big truck rumbling. After awhile, I started to question that. It sounded different. It had been sunny, and I was unaware of things developing weather-wise in OUR area (western part of the state). Well, I stepped outside with my phone, in case something was picture-worthy, and was greeted with all THIS:

Looking south -

Looking southeast -

Looking east -

Looking up, towards the south -

Looking up, towards the northwest (cool combination of clouds) -

This big storm that developed just to our south eventually prompted warnings, but it stayed south of us, and moved on towards the east. But it was "rumbling" constantly, either lightning up in the clouds, or HAIL, as the weather folks were warning about (hail and high winds) in these storms. Eventually, the sun came out here as the storms moved farther east:

These storms, which were now affecting the central part of the state around Oklahoma City, spawned a tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma AGAIN. Those poor folks, this is getting strange to say the least. Four times Moore has been hit now, three in just the last few years (including yesterday's storm).

Prayers for the safety of everyone as spring storms increase.
