I'm still recuperating from last week, so I'll just tell a funny story from the old-time farming days. (Before my time, ha ha.)
I guess it was during wheat harvest on Grandpa and Grandma W.'s farm. Grandpa and a hired hand were cleaning up after a hot sweaty day in the fields. The hired hand was washing his face in the wash basin. Grandpa, waiting his turn, stood nearby. "Ho hum," Grandpa said. The hired hand said, "What?" Grandpa said a little louder ... "HO HUM." "What??" the hired hand said again. Grandpa replied with a loud and clear "HO!!! .... HUM!!!" Then the hired hand finally got it.
That was a standing joke in our family even after I came along ... "Ho hum." "What?" ... etc.
